About IGNITE
IGNITE is GPS Renewables' organization-wide innovation program. It brings together employees from every department to surface real business challenges, form teams, and develop solutions that create measurable impact.
You don't need to be technical to participate. If you understand a business problem, that's enough to start. IGNITE runs different editions — from hackathons to innovation sprints — each with its own format and timeline.
Every submission is the first step of a full journey — from a first write-up, through expert review and a working prototype, out to a proven build that rolls out wherever else it applies. IGNITE opens that whole journey to everyone at GPS, and tracks it through four stages:

What is IGNITE?

Do I need technical skills to participate?
No. If you understand a business problem, that's enough to start. Technical solutions come later, through collaboration with colleagues from other functions.
Can I submit an idea, or do I need to be on a team?
You can submit an idea on your own. Teams form after your idea is shortlisted — you can invite colleagues to join you, or find collaborators through the platform.
What types of ideas can I submit?
Any business challenge, operational problem, or improvement opportunity you've identified. It could be a process bottleneck, a customer pain point, a safety concern, or an opportunity to leverage new technology.
What happens if my idea doesn't get selected?
All submissions are reviewed, but only shortlisted ideas move to team collaboration. You can always submit again in a future IGNITE edition, or join another team's idea.
Can I participate in multiple IGNITE editions?
Yes. You can submit ideas and participate in multiple editions of IGNITE throughout the year.
